Commercial Oil & Gas

Over 20 years of Experience as an Arkansas Oil & Gas Lawyer

Commercial Oil & Gas Title Counsel – Arkansas

I provide oil and gas title services for operators developing drilling programs in Arkansas. My practice focuses on complex field development, unitization projects, and large-scale drilling operations where experienced title counsel is required.

I began my oil and gas career during the Fayetteville Shale development between 2006 and 2015, working extensively on title issues associated with horizontal drilling programs and large multi-well developments. Since then, I have handled title work in some of the most complex ownership environments in the state, including South Arkansas fields where individual drilling units may involve more than 100–150 separate mineral owners.

Because my practice also represents mineral owners across Arkansas, I limit operator engagements to substantial drilling or development programs where experienced title counsel is needed on a sustained basis.

Oil and Gas Title Services

For the right operator and project phase, I provide:

  • Drilling Title Opinions

  • Division Order Title Opinions

  • Unitization and Field Development Title Analysis

  • Complex Ownership Curative

  • Large-Owner Pooling Projects

  • Overflow Title Work for Law Firms and Operators

I am particularly well suited for projects involving large ownership counts, legacy mineral title issues, and historically developed fields where extensive curative work is required before drilling.

Arkansas Oil & Gas Experience

My experience includes:

  • Fayetteville Shale development work during the 2006–2015 drilling cycle

  • Title analysis in legacy South Arkansas oil fields with extensive fractional mineral ownership

  • Unitization and field development title review

  • Representation of mineral owners and operators in complex title matters

I have also written and presented extensively on oil and gas title law in Arkansas.

Professional Leadership

  • Former Chair, Natural Resources Section – Arkansas Bar Association

  • Frequent speaker and author on Arkansas oil and gas title law

  • Nearly two decades of experience in Arkansas natural resource law

Engagements

Because my practice also represents mineral owners throughout Arkansas, I accept operator engagements selectively and typically only where the scope of work involves ongoing development activity, drilling programs, or large-scale title analysis projects.

For operators and law firms seeking experienced Arkansas oil and gas title counsel for a significant project or drilling program, I welcome the opportunity to discuss how I can assist.
